Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification
The Honourable Lynne Yelich was first elected to the House of Commons in 2000 and was re-elected in 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2011. On October 30, 2008, Mrs. Yelich was appointed Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification by Prime Minister Stephen Harper. She was re-appointed to that position on May 18, 2011.
Since then, Mrs. Yelich has worked in partnership with western Canadian businesses and communities on many fronts, including economic growth, business development, and diversification.
Prior to her work as Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification, Mrs. Yelich served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Canada.
Mrs. Yelich is from Kenaston, Saskatchewan and currently resides in Saskatoon. She is married to Matt and they have two children.
