Cyber Education
French Distance Education in the West
IN THE WEST, Francophone education institutions are taking academics to a new level: cyberspace. Several institutions are developing web-based courses that students can access via the Internet. The Government of Canada is helping. Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) has funded pilot projects in tele-education and tele-learning at four colleges and universities in Western Canada. These "virtual campuses" will allow students — wherever they are — to upgrade their education, complete their degrees or diplomas, hone their technological skills, and pursue rewarding career opportunities.
