Through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF), the Harper Government is committed to creating jobs and supporting communities through repairs and improvements to existing community facilities. Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) is delivering the Fund in Western Canada with an allocation of $46.2 million over two years.
The Stony Plain Public Outdoor Swimming Pool and the Chickakoo Lake Recreation Area have received the following allocations:

|Parkland County||The recipient has revamped walking trails and various park amenities at Chickakoo Lake, helping to attract more visitors to Parkland County.||$142,636|
